/Placements /What to avoid when writing your CV:

What to avoid when writing your CV:

  1. Avoid phrases such as “I am a hard worker” as they are vague and overused, rather describe your industry specific skills, experience and achievements. By doing so, this will impress your employer.
  2. Avoid gaps in your CV as it may look to employers as though you have not been doing anything during that period.
  3. Avoid putting unnecessary information such as your hobbies or interests unless they are somehow relevant to the jobs or companies you are applying to.
  4. Avoid using informal and plain language. It is important to use formal, grammatically correct and persuasive language.
  5. Avoid having an unprofessional email address. Having an unprofessional email address seems to the employer as though you are not serious about your job.
